About us

Hi, my name is Leyma Fernández Cabeiro. I’m Cuban but I’m already living in Spain or, more precisely, on Las Palmas y Vecindario en Gran Canaria (one of the seven Canary Islands) for 2 years.

I was born in August 1984 and since I was a little girl I was telling my mum that I want to become a ballet dancer. I started dancing ballet when I was 4 years old in Prodanza, which is a school of Cuban art. I continued dancing there until I decided that it was time to improve. So I participated at the trials for a better dancing school named “Paulita Concepción” and I was accepted. After 3 years of studying there, we all decided to do an exam which brought us to an advanced level of dancing. So once on that level, I continued my studies at the National School of Art (Escuela Nacional de Arte) where I graduated as ballet dancer for Musicals.

I started working at the age of 18 at the famous Ballet del Gran Teatro América in the city of Havana. As a ballet dancer of that ensemble I had the chance to get to know a lot of well known people of the Cuban television, the Cuban world of Art, important masters of ballet, acting or vocal coaches.

We hope to get a big part of our knowledge and the interesting and rich Cuban culture through our classes and activities across. We also try to contribute to the development of the culture on the island of Las Palmas y Vecindario en Gran Canaria and the whole Canary Islands. Our goal is that in each class you feel that you have learned something and that you have enjoyed yourself. So that’s our main objective and we promise you that if you are motivated you will not regret it. We are waiting for you!
